BACKPACKS

Backpacks have become a way of life. Now, no matter where you look, you will see someone wearing a backpack. We now start wearing backpacks at a very early age. You see preschoolers going to school with their little backpacks, and you can see their little shoulders hunched over struggling to carry their little loads. As they get older they graduate to larger and larger backpacks. By the time they are in High School, the backpacks are almost as large as they are. The weight carried in these backpacks is enough to make a Marine tired. Watch these children and here too, you will see the hunched forward shoulders.

More and more adults are using backpacks, and they have become a very useful resource. It allows you to keep your hands free and yet still have your needed possessions at your beck and call. At one time these possessions, such as papers, books, cellular phones and now laptop computers had to be carried in a briefcase. Carrying a briefcase caused shoulder and back pain problems as well.

Now there are packs that are engineered to provide better posture and prevent back injury. These packs are ergonomically designed to protect the neck, back and shoulders. Some models of these backpacks are constructed with heavily padded straps and some come with adjustable air-filled cushions. They also come with an adjustable lumbar cushion, making them safer and more comfortable.

A backpack with individualized compartments helps in positioning the packs contents most effectively. Both shoulder straps must be positioned so as to fit snuggly on both shoulders. The shoulder straps should be as wide as possible and adjustable to fit the body.

It is extremely important that you pick the right backpack. Backpacks come in all sizes and shapes. Unfortunately, most of these packs are just large bags with straps attached to them. No thought was given as to how they were designed. Finding the right bag can be a problem at best. I have researched many bags by several manufacturers and examined them for their design and manufacturing quality. Finding the bag that contained all prerequisites I demanded was not easy, but I finally such a bag. There are of course different styles that will meet your particular demand.

I have found such a bag that contains all the necessary features that will provide maximum safety. The bag is called “AIRPACKS”. They come as Backpacks, Briefcases and Computer Bags. You can see examples of these backpacks, and to learn more about them and to order the bag you wish…CLICK HERE.

It is especially important that parents and grandparents, not only pick the proper backpack for their needs, but also examine the backpacks of their children and see if these can cause harm in any way. A child especially should not carry more than 5 to 10 percent of their body weight in their backpack. Carrying more than this will cause the child to bend forward to support that weight. The backpack should never hang more than 4 inches below the child’s waistline. A backpack that hangs too low will cause the child to lean forward when walking. These precautions can prevent a great many problems as the child grows and even much later in life.

Adults will find that the AirPacks are ergonomically designed to reduce compressional loading of the acromio-clavicular joints and stress on the trapezius muscles. The biomechanical design reduces the risk of impingement problems that are so often caused by bags not designed to the body’s structural needs. The AirPacks unique air-filled lumbar cushion redistributes the weight of the pack to the lower extremities creating a fulcrum that facilitates an upright standing position. As a result the user stands posturally correct, improving the overall biomechanics of the spine.

No other packs instill proper mechanics and provide this level of ergonomic support and comfort. With the AirPacks ergonomic transfer system, no waist belt is needed. The AirPacks backpacks reduces the stress to the user by 80% and lightens the load by 30%.

No other packs have received such rigorous testing by the healthcare community, including physicians, doctors of chiropractic, physical therapists and neuro-muscular experts.
